My fiancee and I are in the process of saving for a house, while planning our wedding therefore are thinking 2013 will be the year for us.
To mix in his style (country boy) with my own (city girl since birth) we came up with a ‘barn’ setting however are having an issue of location. We are not religious people so are planning on using this setting for the ceremony and reception.
Preferrably we need a barn within the Kawartha/Durham region areas but have not had any luck. It would be nice to have all linens and tables/chairs provided with the location but I’m not against DIY.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few that I have found…hopefully they are in your general area. I have no idea how much they charge but hopefully they give you something to think about:
1) Belcroft Estates & Event Centre – has an AMAZING barn and even a wedding coordinator that will do the set up for you….I think chairs and linens are on-site. http://www.belcroftestate.com/index.htm
2) Deer Creek Golf in Ajax – looks very nice, but also very expensive!! http://www.eventsdeercreek.com/index.php
3) Viamede in Peterbrough – also looks nice, but more of a marine feel than barn feel. http://www.viamede.com/events/weddings/
4)Beachwood Resort – has lots of information on the website including prices for weddings and wedding packages. http://www.beachwoodresort.com/
5) Irwin Inn – once again, not so much the barn feel, but a great outdoors setting. http://www.irwininn.com/weddings.htm
Hope you find some of this information useful. I wish I lived closer to some of these venues (and had a bigger budget!)
All the best in your planning!!!

Oh oh!!! Country Heritage Park in Milton! Or Black Creek Pioneer Village (seriously, their grand pavillion is to die for!!!).
From experience, believe me when I say the DIY route is NOT cheaper. I would really try to find a place who can provide you with the tables, chairs, linens, glassware, china, and silverware. Trust me.
Also high fives for P-town! I grew up there!

I am doing a barn wedding i nOntario as well, but closer to Hamilton. I found mine by looking at family farms websites… you know the kind that have apple picking or pumpkin picking or a store on the property? I found that one of these had a large barn and asked if they could do a wedding.. they said yes!

@Seashells7: I’m living in Burlington and I was looking for a barn venue for 2014! If your venue near Hamilton, that sounds absolutely PERFECT for me! Is there any way you could tell me the name or location of the farm you’re planning on using? I would REALLY appreciate it! 🙂

@Seashells7: Hi! I am also searching for a barn venue for Hamilton! It would be beyond amazing if you could let me know which venue you were able to find on a family website. I also have tried this strategy with no luck so far! Thanks for being so resourceful!
