We did our engagement shoot in Burlingame.  Washington Park is right by the Caltrain station, so we took pictures at the park, the Caltrain station, and on Burlingame Ave.

In the city, you can go to the Embarcadero.

In the south bay, Vasona Park is nice.

We went to entrance to Phoenix Lake, part of Mt. Tamalpais in Marin and took several shots besides some beautiful Redwoods, and streams.  We also took pictures at the Marin, Art & Garden Center.  We spend a lot of time around the area, love to hike and love nature so it fit our relationship well.  Good luck!

We just did ours yesterday in Golden Gate Park. We met with our photographer around 5:30pm for the best lighting. It was a little cold by then though. Anyway, we did the majority in the plaza between the Academy of Sciences and the deYoung Museum. There were fountains, tunnels, stairs, benches, palm trees. We walked down MLK drive and took more photos in the Cherry Blossoms, on the playground and around Swan Lake. It was great!

Like soinlove22, we took our engagement photos in Golden Gate Park (started in front of the De Young museum).  Just in that area, you can get a variety of shots.

We also thought about shooting on the Embarcadero (from the bow & arrow sculpture up to around Pier 9 or so).

Just depends on what kind of look you want and how much you are willing to walk between shots.  And I guess if you want to change clothes.  We ended up changing some clothes in the car in the De Young parking garage.
