It’s overhyped tinted moisturizer. A great tip I learned when trying to navigate beauty products is to look at the active ingredient. They can make all sorts of grand promises, but if the active ingredient is listed as sunscreen (which is what all drugstore bb creams list) all you’re getting is sunscreen… With some skin colored cream in it. It is nice if you want a less makeupy look though, but I found it to be too oily.

dont get it!! i picked it up on accident thinking it was moisturizer since it was with the other moisturizers (not the sunscreen) in the store, used it once and threw it out!!

They vary wildly in quality. Some are worth having, some are not. I got one on the recommendation of my make-up artist and it’ s perfect for me. Others I tried sucked.

^exactly what she said. They are not worth the hype.

BB cream is not a tinted moisturizer (it’s actually supposed to be an all-in-one face product that combines sunscreen, wrinkle control, primer, foundation, and sometimes whitening) – and it has actually replaced fluid foundation in my makeup routine. I am a product junkie and have tried dozens, if not over a hundred, different foundations/tinted moisturizers since my teens and nothing has ever made my skin look better than BB cream.

However, none of the American drugstore BB creams have impressed me yet. Garnier was probably the best one I tried, but it wasn’t a match for my skintone. I’ve had better luck with Asian brands, but some can have an ashier color. Currently I use Skin79 Diamond The Prestige BB cream (an Asian brand) blended with Clinique BB cream (the shade with pink undertones) and it’s a dream match for my skintone. The Skin79 also has a whitening effect which has evened out my skin and lightened a few dark spots I had.

I love BB cream because it’s so easy and fast to put on, it’s great for casual days, and it also works really well as sort of a primer underneath liquid foundation for when you want to look more done up. I think like lots of cosmetic products it’s trial and error as to what and what won’t work on you but IMO, finding a good BB cream is worth the looking for.

ive tried a few BB creams. and i die over the boscia brand. its light, airy and works better than my mac studio fluid fix foundation. and i dont feel yucky all day long. i got it for free in my birchbox but im going to buy the larger size IMMEDIATELY. it was love at first application. thats never happened to me before with any makeup product of any brand!

I LOVE my BB cream from Skin 79 (Asian company). I tried a US brand and it turned my face ORANGE! So I had to run back inside and wash it all off blah. The asian brands are the only bb creams I use since they are the best. I started off by trying the Skin 79 trial pack on Amazon, it made me see what one I liked best and worked best with my skin.
