Your temp drops when AF is here. It stays up if your pregnant. A random spike could really mean anything.

Not all women experience a temp drop before AF. Sometimes their temps don’t go down until AF starts, and some of them have higher temps for a few days after AF is finished. As with all things charting, you can’t put much stock in one day’s temps. Who knows, your temp might take a nosedive tomorrow. If it stays up, and you miss AF, then take a test. If it stays up through AF, take a test just in case.

As you pointed out, you started charting mid-cycle, so you’re not really sure where you are in your cycle. AF could be due in a couple of days, or it could be due in a week. Theoretically, it looks like you might’ve O’d on CD20, but since you only have one day of temps before then, you could’ve O’d earlier or later or not at all.

My BBT drops the day AF starts.  If it doesn’t drop in the next day or so, I would definitely test!

It helps to never read much into any individual temp.  It’s trends that matter, not individual data points, which can always be abberations.  (That said, a spike 8 dpo always gets me a bit excited — though we aren’t trying.)

Sometimes my temps drop the day I get my period.  Sometimes not.  I can almost always tell she’s coming by the fierce cramps, though.
