weight gain and going up a cup size is normal when you start BCP.

if this doctor isn’t taking you seriously, find one who will.

I wish I could say you would drop the weight when you go off it but if i’m any indication it wasn’t true. Maybe a non hormonal BC? Or do you need that for your other condition?

lauralaura123 :  gaining 5-10 pounds when I am super short – not so sweet

Are you saying you want to go down 5-10 pounds from 93-95pounds?

lauralaura123 :  Lose 5lbs bringing you to 88lbs?  I don’t think your problem is being constantly hungry.

abouttodoit17 : She’s 4’9, so a healthy weight for her is anywhere between 86 and 115 lbs. She didn’t say she wants to be 50 pounds, she just doesn’t want to gain weight on BC, how’s that different from any other woman?

lauralaura123 :  You should up the protein in your diet! Protein helps with satiety and feeling full for longer. Also I know you said you tried more water, but for me drinking more water regularly (as in every day forever, not just a couple days) helps immensely with feeling less bloated and feeling more full. Your mileage may vary. I second PP who said find another doctor. Don’t feel bad about not wanting to gain weight even though you are already at a healthy weight. Your weight is your business and even though you could gain weight and still be healthy, that’s your choice! 🙂 Do what you and your (maybe new) doctor feel is best for your health!

She specifically said she wants to lose 5-10lbs, rather than now gaining as you have suggested.

‘How’s that different from any other woman?’ Way to out all women in a box.

abouttodoit17 :  What she actually said after YOU suggested 5-10 pounds was

“More like 5 pounds maybe…but mostly just get rid of the food cravings and constant hunger”

And nowhere did I SUGGEST she gain weight. I said she COULD (never said SHOULD) but that it’s HER choice and she should talk to a doctor. Reading comprehension is an amzing thing.

One small comment about saying women don’t want to gain weight on BC is not putting all women in a box. OBVIOUSLY some women want to gain weight on BC or want to gain weight in general, but I didn’t feel the need to talk about that because THIS OP deosn’t want that. Talking about the topic at hand isn’t the same as ignoring every other topic. It sounds to me like you’re implying the OP is anorexic just because she weighs less than you think she should. If that’s not weight shaming, I don’t know what is.

you’ve tried different brands-did they have different amounts of estrogen?  maybe if you got on the lowest dose that would help?  i had to do that, because pills with more estrogen made me too emotional!
