Rubbing alcohol can delay your period for a few days. My mom told me this a long time ago. I’m not sure how it works but you just rub a little on the underside of a pad and the fumes (I think?) are what cause the delay.

I took the BCP for 5 days thought my wedding since we were starting to TTC after the wedding.   I started it on the Thursday and stopped on Tuesday.  I had no issues at all, and AF showed up the next day.    I loved doing it for 5 days.

I didn’t have any issues with starting the pill. Maybe try something with low dosage, like orthotrycyclene low. If you take it at the same time every day, there’s less risk of spotting.

@goldenapple82: This would make me extremely nervous, as well.

I think if you take it for only 5 days leading up to your wedding, you are more likely to have breakthrough bleeding and spotting.  I would consider just starting it now.  I have never had weight gain side effects with BC.

@goldenapple82: Hmm I’m not sure if that would work or not.  I would think your body wouldn’t go by when you stopped the pills but it might work.

I would personally say DO NOT start the pill right now if you are not currently on birth control.  I’m saying this because both times that I started it up, it made me EXTREMELY MOODY, borderline depressed.  It also wreaked havoc on my skin and made me gain weight.  I don’t know…I would not want to risk that just months before my wedding!

@goldenapple82:

It’s okay, I just didn’t know it could be dangerous. My mom does come up with some weird “remedies” though. I deleted it, I don’t want anybody gettng yeast infections!

I’m currently doing this too haha!  I am taking two packs straight, and so far, so good.  I want to make sure I get my period the week before the wedding, that way I’m good for the wedding and honeymoon, and then I don’t intend to go back on it for the wedding!  It depends what kind of pill you take and how your body will react to it.  If you’re eating the same amount, you shouldn’t be gaining weight.  Sometimes you just might crave food more, and it WILL make your chest larger and possibly swollen… just something to think about!  It’s still worth it I think though, it also cleared up my skin 🙂
