FAM is an option for you if you’re open to learning. It’ll also help you get info for when you’re ready to TTC. If you’re interested  in natural family planning I’d suggest you pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has a bunch of rules, but pretty much you can have unprotected sex every other DRY day after your period & once you’ve confirmed ovulation.

@MrsRugbee:  I second this suggestion! Best book you’ll ever read regarding your fertility.

This is hard for me. I would say that if you do not want to take ANY chance of getting KU then you should stay on the pill for another month, However there is no gaurantee that you won’t get KU even while on the pill or when you come off of it right away. TTC is tricky so I say that unless you are ready to get KU right away, don’t mess around and just stay on the pill.
