curious because ive read and heard different things, does BDing for 3 nights in a row when getting a positive ovulation test result hurt or help you. Ive read that having to much sex can hurt sperm count when it comes to getting pregnant. But then ive read that BDing while having a + test is necessary for as long as the test is positive.
i tested on CD14 and got a negative, but we BDed anyways cause we wanted to. Then the next afternoon (CD15) i got a strong + so we BD’ed that afternoon as well. Im now on CD16 and still getting a strong positive, should i continue to engage in intercourse till the line fades…
*we havent been great at BDing before the positive rolls around simply do to conflicting work schedules, which i know is also important to do in order to gear up the body for ovulation, etc. but for reference we also BD’ed on CD10.

Kslim13 : If you haven’t been ttc long and have no indication your partner has a low sperm count I think you shouldn’t stress out about it or overthink it, just have sex when you feel like it and if you’ve had sex on a positive opk then you’ve hit the mark fine. Make ttc fun and don’t worry too much!

I’ve read that if there is no known sperm count issues then BD the 3 days.

My husband and I BD’d for 9 days in a row. It was out first month trying, and now I’m almost 6 weeks pregnant! It may be different for everyone, but it didn’t hurt us! Good luck!!!

I would bet your opk won’t be pos cd 17, so I would BD through the pos.

Kslim13 : BDing every day is just fine unless your husband has a low sperm count. BDing every other day is fine, too, if you don’t have the energy or are busy or apart or something. The first time I got pregnant we ended up doing a mix of ED and EOD around ovulation, the second time was ED. I have read the day most likely to lead to conception is the day before ovulation. Best of luck!

We did every other day or every 3rd day. Our successful cycle was last year the week of Christmas lol. We only had a chance in my fertile window on the 23 and 26th, pretty sure I O’d late the 25th and we caught it on the 26th. If he doesn’t have sperm count issues, which if you’re just starting out I’m sure that’s unknown, you can BD everyday but from discussing with many women in my mamas group, every other day was the most common.

We got pg this time by BD 4 days before O then on day of O. Didn’t expect a positive at all.

I was on clomid and injectables so had a pretty precise window for ovulation. We bd on the day of the trigger shot and the 3 following days – not easy as we never do it that often normally! My Darling Husband is so proud of himself as it worked and I’m now 5 weeks pregnant!

We BD everyday during my fertile window some times more than 1x per day. We did our best to have fun with the process and not put too much thought into it. If we missed a day during my fertile window that was okay too. I think it may be a little different for everyone but I have heard people say every other day is more west effective. If sperm life 5-7 days it isn’t necessary to do it everyday but I guess some thing the more the better and increases the chances. Dh and I were pretty lucky and I conceived quickly just by tracking ewcm knowing when I was in my fertile window and BD whenever we wanted. Good luck !!

Kslim13 : As long as Darling Husband has no history of low sperm counts, BD away! My current pregnancy resulted from 4 days in a row of BD around the positive OPK 🙂

I don’t think it helps or hurts (unless there are special circumstances like known low sperm count) – I don’t think it makes a difference over every other day. That said I’m pregnant after trying for our first cycle and BDing every day for about a week (I didn’t temp or POS so it was a fertile window guess based on a cycle app).

Kslim13 : I just got my BFP and we BD day before +opk, day of +opk and the day after +opk (which was O day)
