Yes, because I did!  I knew when my fi had the ring because I saw him take a call and act really weird about it.  So…I checked his phone to see what # had called him..and then googled the phone #..then found out it was jewelery store #!!! I snooped through his dresser/closet a few times but didn’t find it! He had it hidden at his parents house because he just KNEW I would snoop lol

No, my FI bought my ring in April 2007 (I was with him when he bought it).  He didn’t propose until August 2008, EIGHTEEN months later!!  I didn’t snoop once.

I would try so hard to not and let myself be surprised but I don’t know if I would be able to! So I voted yes. The BF and I are both SO bad at surprises, we always end up giving birthday gifts early or giving each other hints until we pretty much know what the gift will be. Lame, I know. But luckily we’re both the same so I know if he had a ring, he wouldn’t be able to wait to give it to me.

Ha! I already did go snooping, although the ring wasn’t there I found a piece of paper with all the spec.s, I can’t wait to see it!!

I wasn’t going to go snooping BUT he left the receipt for the deposit he paid for it on the counter in the kitchen!  I pretended to ignore this paper and so I don’t think he knows I saw it…but after that, all I could think of was the ring!  Although at that time, I did not realize that he actually had the ring and had not just ordered it…which he clearly did because he proposed the next day!

On a side note, I may have gone snooping a bit around Christmas…but it was less about looking for a ring and more about looking for presents in general.  Sigh…I am too curious for my own good!

    …I voted yes…haha!

I love surprises so much but am always pretty good at figuring them out. My fiance proposed to me the very next day after he got my ring–probably a good thing!

Yes I totally would snoop. I have the ring already…and luckily I had no idea he was planning on proposing…but I so would have if I had a clue. I was that kid who snooped around for my Christmas presents in my parent’s closet!

@sdjurado: my ex used to do that and I hated it! After awhile I told him he wasn’t allowed to mention anything about gifts around birthdays/anniversaries/christmas/etc because I would get so upset.

I wouldn’t look because I LOVE to be surprised. Unfortunately I tend to ruin my own surprises without even trying, so knowing my luck I would probably stumble on the ring when doing chores or something :/

I wouldn’t go out of my way to look for it, but then again I already know what the ring is going to look like. He won’t make me wait very long to present it to me, so I don’t mind waiting at all.

Nope!  I was pretty sure that FI had purchased a ring, and that it was residing in our house, but I restrained myself, and I didn’t go looking for it.  When he proposed, I was really happy that I hadn’t gone hunting for the ring, b/c it made the proposal so special and such a surprise.
