I work PT at Old Navy and we just got freaking adorable gender neutral baby stuff in: yellow and gray with little lambs! I’m pretty sure I’ll HAVE to buy a few things to tuck away since I don’t often see gender neutral clothes that I love (we plan on being Team Green).

We aren’t planning to TTC for another year or two, but I am planning on picking up some special things for our first child while we’re in Paris for our honeymoon in September. Something for the nursery (piece of art or something like that) and probably some books. I am also on the lookout all the time for a little Star Wars onesie. Darling Husband doesn’t know it but when I find out I’m pregnant I’m going to give it to him   when I tell him. He’s a huge SW fan!

Gap was having a big sale and there were some great deals on their maternity stuff, so I bought some clothes a few months before actually conceiving.

Eep. I have a onesie that says “I’m told I’m a blackhawks fan” to give to Darling Husband when we are pregnant. We aren’t TTC yet but hopefully will be in the fall. I have to resist myself not to buy more!

I don’t plan to buy anything because I’ve seen too many people around me have difficulties TTC.  I don’t want to have baby stuff around as it will just be a stab in the gut every month if we have any difficulties.

Absolutely NOTHING. I didn’t want any reminders in case we had trouble getting pregnant.

In fact, when I did get pregnant, I didn’t buy anything until the 2nd trimester. (Well, I bought a breast pump in 1st tri, but only because I got a $300 pump for $200; I couldn’t pass that up.) I was so paranoid something would go wrong (1 in 5 known pregnancies end in m/c) and I didn’t want any reminders sitting around if it did.

Nothing. Like the two PPs, I’m too scared of jinxing it or that we will have a hard time getting pregnant. That said, I have a few people from whom I know I will get hand me downs, so I definitely eye that stuff and think about what I want from them! So, I really probably won’t need to buy that many clothes at first (we will be team green and my sister was, so all her sons clothes were neutral at first), plus she saved her maternity clothes for me (same size pre-pregnancy so they should fit, similar styles).

But no, I wouldn’t buy anything. I just devour information on the internet so I’ll be ready to go once we do get pregnant!

I found the cutest little harley jacket in good will…couldn’t resist and Fiance loves it too. Also found a cute little Larry the Lobster wooden pull behind toy. Fun little things to think of the future with. But till then, into the hope chest it goes!

@Mrs.KMM:  Agreed…

I bought nothing, and thank goodness. We had such a hard time TTC with two miscarriages. Having baby stuff around would have just added to my misery.

I so badly wanted to buy a “baby bullet” – a baby food blender with smiley faces on the jars/blender because I found one for cheap at Macy’s. My mom was with me and we were both like “OMG” “SIGH” “I THINK I WANT THAT”…but then we both looked at each other at the same time and were like…no. She said, “Don’t do this to yourself, start buying baby things before TTC or before you are pregnant, because if something does not go as planned you will be torturing yourself”. I thought it was great advice and she wrote down the name of the blender so that someday she will get it for me. We are not even seriously TTC for another 2 years or so but the mood struck me that day when I saw it to buy it. I felt like a crazy person, but knowing others actually do buy things makes me feel a lot better. 🙂

PS. I still see the Baby Bullet for sale and it kills me everytime! I just…want it.
