- Wedding: September 2014
We are having an outdoor campground reception in September on the coast of Maine with approximately 100 guests.
Reception will start at 2pm, so first we will have snacks (cheese, crackers, veggie and fruit plates and a popcorn machine!) and then dinner at around 5pm. There will be music for dancing, a table of board games for guests to enjoy if they aren’t big on dancing, lawn games beside the tent, kayaking at the beach, and we are even thinking of doing a big group game of bingo!
At 5pm we will have 40 wood fired pizzas for our guests to enjoy, and also some salad, any leftover snacks from before, and hopefully pasta or potato salad.
For drinks throughout the day we will have iced tea, lemonade, and a variety of sodas. Due to the casual nature of our event and limited budget we cannot provide alcohol beyond the champagne toast, so guests will be permitted to bring their own alcohol since this is very common and acceptable in our area and with the close family and friends we will be inviting.
After dinner we will have a smores bar and our cake. There is also a free ice cream sundae event during this time at the campground that people will be welcome to stop by. We will continue music, games, and the campfire into the evening.
We have reserved all of the cabins the campground has for our guests to rent out.
Our tent will have sides available in case of a windy day or rain.
I plan on purchasing:
- 280 bottles of water
- 90 cans of coke
- 30 cans of diet coke
- 30 cans of sprite
- 24 cans of root beer
- 30 cans of ginger ale
- 3-5 gallons of iced tea
- 3-5 gallons of pink lemonade
- 500 paper food trays for popcorn (smallest amount I can get) (think the ones hotdogs come in)
- 450 paper plates
- 600 paper cups (paper for both so we can burn them safely without creating a ton of trash)
- 500 paper napkins
- 600 of each: plastic spoons, forks, and knives
Any advice on how much cheese, crackers, and fruit/veggies I should get? Also did I miss anything for plates, etc?
Any advice about other things that might be good for my theme (including camp themed decor) are also welcome!
