We had 130 guests, and invited 186 – most of our guests had to travel at least 500 miles, if not more, to come, so it was a pretty amazing turnout.

We could only hold about 170 in the venue.  Our guest list included:

    • Immediate family and +1s
    • Extended Family (aunts, uncles, cousins) – with significant others or +1 for single others
    • Friends who had been dating 3-4 months (serious dating) when we sent Save-The-Date Cards – with their SOs.
    • Friends who had been dating 3-4 months when invitations went out (did not send Save-The-Date Cards to these) – with their SOs
    • Single friends who were not dating anyone at the time of Save-The-Date Cards or invites went out – no +1
    • Anyone traveling from out of town got a guest regardless because they were traveling.

It was a pretty tough battle getting to our final guest list, but we finally got there, and that’s all that counted!

We had exactly 20% people RSVP as No.  But then, we started really small and only invited immediate family (parents & siblings) and close friends.

@Sunnyday278:  we have 2 lists, one for everything (ceremony and reception) and some that are reception only.  it wasn’t really that hard to figure out. we can only have 150 people at the ceremony( and that’s 100 more then I’d really care for) but it was easy to open it up to close friends from immediate family only.

then we invited everyone to the reception.
