Ok as some of you may know from my other posts, Fiance and I were just planning a beach ceremony for the two of us. I have since decided I do want family and a few friends there, but I still don’t want anything too big or formal. I was thinking of having the beach ceremony with family and friends to witness and then having a bbq on the beach which would then turn into a beach party. People could bring their swimsuits and towels and flip flops and then it would be a relaxing day at the beach with hotdogs, hamburgers, some drinks, sodas and just a good time in general. Does this sound tacky or doable?

I think it sounds like a blast. Go for it!

@SuperKate: Thanks! I’m hoping it comes together as nicely as it is in my head. I’m opting for no flowers and very little decorations.

I think it sounds great! I would make sure to have a lot of shade (tent/umbrella and chairs…) for those who burn easily or just don’t like the sun. Also, it would be really cute to have little bathroom baskets with sunscreen in them along with the other essentials!

I am imaging fabulous torches to light when the sun goes down! How much fun.

I think it sounds fun but I do think you should decorate a little bit. Think tiki torches, leis, lanterns, etc? Also, it would be super cute to have your favor to your guests be personalized flip flops in your wedding colors. =)

Sounds awesome! I would definitely rent some umbrellas to cover the food area. I love the idea of tiki torches to flank the path going down to the ceremony. Another idea would be to have extra beach umbrellas, towels, and chairs. You could also bring beach toys (football, volleyball, soccer ball, shovel and pails for the kids, etc).

It’s perfect! We actually had the same idea but since we had only two guests we decided it would be easier to have just cake/coffee at the beach and then go out for dinner. But we would have loved to do a BBQ at the beach!
