I am going to one in July! My friends rented a taco truck and will set up a table with some finger food that can sit on ice.

ardent :  Ive thought about doing a picnic wedding a few times and the problems i always run into are the following:

♥ the dirt/sand – its gonna get everywhere…on the blankets, on peoples hands, on the food.

♥ seating – while sitting on the ground is okay for some people i know that older people can not do that. For examply my grandmother would need an actual seat. Also, and this just might be my fat ass but its not comfortable for fat people to sit on the ground either.

As far as your questions go favors are really never necessary and any food would do, BBQ seems fitting for a beach picnic plus its cheap.

That sounds so fun and beautiful. The sand thing does seem like an issue though lol! But maybe you can find a way to manage it.

I’m doing a park picnic wedding. But we’re renting tables and chairs for seating. Our favors are fans that double as a seating chart that people can use during the ceremony to keep cool and sunscreen.

Then we’re setting up a bunch of lawn games in the area.

ardent :  At first I thought you meant at picnic tables, but then you mentioned blankets and pillows. Does that mean people will be sitting on the ground? Will they be in shorts? I don’t LIKE sitting on the beach eating, ever. If all the tables are full and that’s the only option, ok whatever. But that’s in a swimsuit or shorts. I would not be at all happy to be sitting on the beach eating in nice clothes or even regular casual clothes. There’s the sand, sand flies, the tide, crabs, rocks, broken shells, seagulls, joggers with dogs. …. Wedding on the beach = lovely. Wedding picnic on the ground = less lovely. Could you get tables and chairs?

I love going to the beach but I wouldn’t want to eat on the ground with sand everywhere. Maybe if you have tables under a tent. Without shade that would be a lot of sun exposure. The food truck idea sounds good.

ardent :  That sounds great!

(ETA: Tables & chairs for dinner, then a picnic bonfire later sounds great.)
