Reading this, I’m picturing a coastal vibe.

You should check out this real wedding, featured on Style Me Pretty:

And I LOVE your idea of mixing up the color in your wedding party, it’s kind of like an ombre bag and has the potential to be VERY cool.

Um, my comment disappeared?  Weird.

Your description reminds me of a coastal wedding.  You might want to check out this weddding on Style Me Pretty:

(There’s several blog posts about their wedding, and this will take you to all of them, but it’s not in chronological order.  It should give you some inspiration anyway!)

And this from The Perfect Palette:

(Not sure why this link isn’t working because it’s the url for it, but just click on her blog, then go to February ’09 archives and click on Board 29 and it will pop up!)

And I love your idea for different colors and tones for your wedding party!  It has the potential to be VERY cool!

How many girls do you have in your BP? You could always split it up with half in one shade of blue and the other half in another tone/color. Or, your Maid/Matron of Honor can be in a different style or color than your BMs. What are you most happy with?

I saw a really cute set up where the bride did her own centerprices by putting shells in the bottom of a tall vase and put spiraling branches in them with little crystals hanging from them.

Also the place settings were sand dollars. So cute!

I am doing a "sort of" beach theme, most just with starfish.  I will be getting pencil starfish and using them for the placecards but printing out the name and table on cardstock and tying it to the arm of the starfish with ribbon.  Im also putting little silver starfish on the menu card and our wedding invitations have the silver starfish on the top as well.

You can do centerpieces of bowls filled with sand and shells like this : http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/gallery_details.aspx?gallery=27&itemnumber=21&MsdVisit=1

or a cake with shells on it, little white lanterns with tealights.

For the bridesmaid dresses I would suggest maybe getting a couple dresses that are blue with a brown sash and some that are brown with a blue sash or doing something simliar like that to combine the colors.
