So, my FI and I have had a slight change of heart and are thinking of eloping on the beach. This completely changes what I had in mind in terms of attire. What is the groom to wear for such an occasion? A suit seems a little less practical, but I don’t want him to be toooo casual. Also, what kind of dress should I wear? I was considering this before (when we were planning to get married in a historic building), but now I am second guessing myself. http://www.simplybridal.com/shop/roxanne-gown
We are going to the beach boardwalk to the rides afterwords. Like, the rollercoaser, and the swings! So, I don’t think me wearing something cumbersome would be a great idea.
What do you ladies think of the dress? If not this one, any other ideas? Any ideas on grooms attire?

@cindalu: I think that dress is really cite and definitely not cumbersome. I can see you adding a cute cardi if it is at all chilly.
He could still wear a suit- it’s nice to look a bit dressy for your pics. Or, he could wear a vest and a pair of pants.
Just the other day a Bee did a review of http://www.studiosuits.com
Studio Suits – Linen Suit Review
he can order a vest and pants for $89

@julies1949: Sweet! Thanks for the tip! I do like the idea of white for him.

We eloped in May. My husband wore a suit, and I still wore a very formal dress. it didn’t look out of place at all, so if you’re worried about that…don’t! I love that dress though! It’s very cute! Here’s a picture to make you feel better about him wearing a suit on the beach.

@cindalu: We also got married on the beach and while I really like the contrast between the formality of wedding attire and the casualness of the beach, I wanted to make sure that our outfits also complemented our surroundings. This is what we ended up going for: (the guys suits are actually a very light grey but came out almost light blue in some pictures which I actually really love)
I do like the dress you picked out and I think it will work especially well if you want a casual feel to your wedding. Don’t feel like just because it is at the beach it has to be though 🙂
