Who says you can’t have a ball gown for a beach themed wedding?

I think you should get the dress you want, but you have to be aware of the complications with the different styles. Ball gowns tend to be heavier materials (hotter! heavier!), so I would look at the fabric content first….The new Vera gowns at Davids are light and have that full style, or the Alfred Angelo Cinderella. is lighter too, especially if you compare it to like Tiana.

I wouldn’t give up on the ball gown though….think of the unique pics….everyone does a column or mermaid or tea length for a beach wedding….I’ve never seen a ball gown! So if that’s what you have your heart set on and you find the dress, I say do it!

Just because it’s a beach wedding, doesn’t mean it you can’t have the dress you want!  It can be as formal or as casual as you would like.

I agree w/ omgsprinkles, the only thing you need to take into consideration is how the dress will be on the beach.  If there’s a lot of tulle, it could be hot, and/or catch a lot of sand in the dress.  But the ceremony will only be 15-30 minutes – TOPS!  So I wouldn’t worry about it 🙂

i agree with everyone. i am a beach bride and i struggles for the longest time trying to find a “beachy” dress. finally a salesperson told me that it doesnt matter and the contrast of fancy on beach is beautiful!  and so i was able to find my dream dress! i  did make comfort a rule though.  any dress that was too hot and heavy to wear in the store for 5 minutes was out – whether i get married on a beach or not!

Oh, I love the look of ball gowns on the beach. Please do it! Ball gowns don’t fit my style but i love them so very much. If I could I would wear a ball gown at my beach wedding I would in a second.
