My friends got married on the beach they had their BM’s in Pool Blue and Groomsmen in tan suits. They also used red accents. It was very pretty.

My cousin however got married in Jamacia on the beach and us BM’s wore black with hot pink bouquets and the guys wore black linen pants and hot pink polos… DO NOT PICK BLACK!!! We were miserable!

The “pool” color is something I’ve been looking into, too.  For a sunset wedding it might be really neat because it would pop compared to the skyline.  On the other hand, a really vibrant purple would do the same.  A coral would look really nice and go with linen.

I was going to suggest a bright blue too…  What about a burnt orange to go with the sunset?

I’m using neutrals like taupe, sand, beige, peachy tones

My main colors are cobalt blue and orange. My bridesmaids are wearing the cobalt and holding orange/peach roses. I knew I wanted blue from the very beginning and when i saw orange next to it, I fell in love with it.

Here are the colors I am using for our beach wedding at sunset…although the blue I am using is a litle bit darker – more of a teal color. It’s called Malibu.

I’m getting married on the beach and my BM’s are wearing yellow. I don’t think they will look washed out. But I think it depends what colour yellow you use.

For example this colour, might look washed out:

Our drseses are indaisy by Alfred Sung like in the picture…no way they will look washed out!

Mine is also a sunset beach wedding and my girls are wearing hot pink while the guys are just wearing khakis and white shirts. I really wanted to have them in a soft gray color because I thought it would look so nice with the orange, yellow and red of sunset but they vetoed in favor of something ‘brighter!’

I found that a lot of beach weddings use an aqua color and while it’s pretty, I think it’s slightly overdone. I personally wanted to avoid having my bridesmaid’s dresses competing with the ocean for beauty and color ’cause let’s face it, the ocean’s gonna win every time.

I agree that blue at a beach wedding is kind of played out.

What about corals or oranges with a natural beige color and white.

I went with aqua and white for my beach wedding in the bahamas.  The sashes around the chairs are darker than aqua but my Maid/Matron of Honor dress and Flower Girl sash are pool blue from Davids Bridal.  These pics were from our ceremony in July – around 7:15pm so not quite sunset.

I also did aqua with an outdoor reception at night – I can send you pics if you want to see those.  If I had to do it over again, I think I would still choose aqua – it went so well with the water, etc.  But my second choice would be fuscia and orange – something that pops and is “islandy”

@adams.sarah2012:  I’m getting married two days after you, and while it’s not techically on the beach, we are on a big ferry boat on the ocean, with a whimisical, beachy theme.

My first color scheme was orange, teal blue and white. very Caribbean.

now, we’ve changed it to orange, berry purple, white with gold accents.

I’m a bit concerned that orange and purple is more an autumn wedding colour scheme, so I’m hoping if we choose more berry puple, almost maroon, it will look tropical and sexy for our sunset wedding.

I love corals, peaches, creams, and golds for a beach wedding
