We are planning an evening ceremony on the beach in Santa Barbara. My fiance would like it to be semi-formal and wants to wear a suit. He’s not too excited about the tan/linen suit or black tux. Our Bridesmaid dresses are sea green and my dress is ivory. My fiance would like to wear the brown suit and his groomsmen wear the same. I don’t see a lot of brown suits/tuxes in weddings. I was thinking maybe taupe or gray suit? Any suggestions????

I’m doing a beach wedding also… my opinion on the brown is that it would be too harsh against the background… Navy would be nice, and a slate tan, almost a tan stone color with a cotton blend is nice… My FH picked one from banana republic and loves it… it looks super good on him and no one would ever know it was a linen blend- without all the linen link wrinkles.
Here’s a brown I’ve seen in person that isn’t all that ick
My FH’s looks almost like this one in the stone color- it is a VERY light khaki color and looks like a normal wool suit.
These were some other options, but we decided against them for various reasons:
Something like this one

hey, brown tux/ suit wedding here! my dress is champagne, the girls are wearing a medium/bright blue, and the guys are wearing brown tuxes with blue shirts/ blue ties. Fiance is wearing brown tux w ivory shirt & gold/ ivory tie. we found 2 brown tuxes at the same place & nearly had a heart attack about it. we’re on the east coast tho. if your dress is ivory i found that (at least w my champagne/ dark ivory dress) that grey & taupe clash w the dress. lgrey looked much better with white. look around for brown, it wont be at your local mens warehouse/ after hours but a decent tux place will probably have one. call around!
ps i cant see your pics but here are the tuxes we looked at. neither has the traditional "tux stripe" down the legs so they look more casual- like a suit!

I think navy always looks great or grey. You can also do navy jacket and khaki color pants + tie.
