I am also doing a beach wedding and for our wishing tree we are using a really cool piece of driftwood, with lots of roots as “branches” so there is plenty of places to hang the wishes 🙂

Sorry no pics as of yet and I havent even looked for tags yet but I do know that etsy had lots of nautical tags as well as plain or vintage looking tags.  Good luck!

I’m not sure if you already got an answer to your question about making the tree look “rustic”, but you can use a gas map torch (its like a blow torch) and just heat the branches….(if you just move the flame somewhat quickly along the wood branches it wont catch fire…trust me…I know it sounds a little scary)

The branches will turn brown (like that burned, worn look) but NOT charred.  I also have a beach themed wedding, and I actually did this for some wooden boxes to make them look like old treasure chests to put the guests party favors in.  They look really nice, and not “cheesy” or cheap.

I would suggest
