Just thought I’d share with everyone an awesome experience I recently had.
I saw these luggage tags that I thought would be perfect for our destination wedding. We’re expecting less than 40 guests, so if they’re a tad on the expensive side, when you only need 35 of them, it makes it pretty reasonable.
Anyway, I added these to my cart the other day and noticed that there was an ad on the side of the site that said that shipping was free to Canada for $150 spend. There was another add in another section of the site (but the same page) that said shipping was free to Canada with $175 spend. I checked out a few other pages and each page had both coupon codes listed.
So, I added everything to my cart and came up to something like $140. Seeing as shipping was going to be $25 on this order, I figured I’d be better off just adding more ‘stuff’ and getting the free shipping. I ended up adding some really pretty earrings that I think will work for my wedding day look. They were also about $25, so, in my mind, they were ‘free’. (Gotta love that logic, huh?!?!)
My cart now had $167 in it so I went to check out and added the free shipping code for $150, but the site came back and told me that the code was expired. I tried it again and it said the same thing.
This particular site has an online chat, so I started a session and explained to the guy who I spoke with that the code wasn’t working. He very nicely checked the code for me and came back and told me that the code was indeed expired, but there was another code for $175 minimum spend.
I explained to him that the $150 code was still listed on their website and told him that I had $167 in my cart and wondered whether they would still honour the code, seeing as it was listed on their website.
The guy immediately told me that if I put my order through with the shipping fee and sent him the confirmation number, he would personally remove the shipping fee and send me a revised receipt. He then gave me his personal email address, so I wasn’t sending my confirmation into the black hole of customer service.
I did as he suggested and placed the order with the shipping. I then forwarded him the confirmation I received. Within two hours, he sent me back another confirmation with the new cost. So efficient!
It was FANTASTIC! I’m still waiting to receive the tags, but so far, I’m very impressed with the customer service from this company!
