@MrsBob2Be:  I have to agree with you that $10k for just the space is a bit ridiculous. Where do you live? I’m sure we could help you find another beautiful barn venue (which I LOVE by the way) that will be within a reasonable price range.

@MrsBob2Be:  we just went through this, we loved a space that was almost 9k and that didn’t even include tables and chairs.

I’d keep looking, I’m sure you can find something else that’s fantastic and won’t break the bank!

@MrsBob2Be:  that sounds like a barn venue close to me. I absolutely LOVED it but the price to rent the barn alone was about $6k and that didn’t include anything! I agree with PP, $10k for space alone is a bit extreme, IMO.

Sticker shock is a bummer am I right? I would keep the barn venue in your mind but, see if there are other options, a venue who is just getting started out, a friend/family who has a barn, or something that has a similar vibe.  We’re doing a barn wedding too and we just booked ours, good luck hunting!

I don’t understand why a barn is so expensive! It’s a BARN! That’s way too much money, in my opinion. Maybe your Fiance hasn’t added up all the rest of the costs in his head yet?

    Keep looking!

Unless you have a huge budget, like $50K+, I’d keep looking.

@MrsBob2Be:  Waaayy to much considering all the other costs that need to be accounted for.  My barn venue is about a third of that price and includes everything you mentioned.  I say keep looking.  And let us know where you are, maybe some bees have venue suggestions

That seems pretty high, but where are you located?  What do other venues cost?  It might be extraordinarily expensive, or venues might just ALL be that pricey in your area.

You can def find another barn for a cheaper price. That seems way too expensive to me if it doesn’t include anything.

where are you located? I’m sure you could keep looking. That sounds INSANE. I paid 1200 for my venue (just the barn) but there was a lot that were charging 2500-4500… but after all is said and done you’d pay what like 10k? No not worth it.

It totally depends on your budget. If you have an unlimited or very big budget then go for it. If you are like 90% of Bees and are trying to stick to a reasonable budget then don’t do it. It will cost quite a lot to even sparsely decorate a barn like that. Then you need food, alcohol, staff, oven hire, table hire, cuttlery, glasswear etc etc etc. The list goes on and on. If you can afford 10k just for the location then you can afford a wedding planner who will help with all the other shit you will need to do. If that sounds like it’s going to be too much then keep looking.

What about a Friday wedding at the other more reasonable location?
