With 119 days left ‘til the big day, it’s time to step up the beauty regiment. And after much research, I have decided to give coconut oil, castor oil and charcoal face mask a try. Today was my face day to apply all three items on my hair and face. Without a doubt, the tar-colored-face-mask-and-shower-cap-look scared my fiancé! I can’t possibly be the only bride-to-be that’s giving wacky beauty treatments a shot. What are your beauty routines for the big day?
On a separate note, is it unrealistic to try to work out during the last 3 months on firming up those arms and abs? I can’t say I’m overweight, but I just don’t want to look like a piece of lard on the big day!

3 months is plenty of time to firm up. HOWEVER, getting fit is more about diet than exercise.
I have found that when I eliminate dairy…no cheese…no milk…no cream sauces…and keep my carb intake at a moderate level I lose weight very quickly.
So, in my opinion…cut out dairy…do a half hour of cardio a day and hit the weights at the gym!
If free weights are intimidating, the machines are fine! I would do shoulder presses, tricep workouts and bicep workouts.
I would suggest reading up on repetitions and sets. Also, heavier weights are the way to go! Women do NOT bulk up like men, we don’t have as much testosterone! And using light weights without feeling muscle fatigue would just be a waste of time!

If you already have quite good skin, I wouldn’t recommend trying heaps of new products just before your wedding.
I invested in beautiful skin care in December & have been using it religiously since then.
My current “night time” routine is”
– Lush Sea Salt scrub (not every day)
– Garnier Micellar Water
– Lush A Breath of Fresh Air toner
– Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum
– Chanel Hydra Beauty Eye Creme
– Chanel Hydra Beauty Moisturiser
– Lip balm
I also regularly clearing face masks on my skin, around once to twice per week.
– Lush Magnamity
– Lush Cupcake
– The Body Shop Blue Cornflower
I have also just started visiting my day spa for facials & will have two more in the next month. The last one made a big difference!
Working out – you can make a big difference in three months if you stick with your exersize / eating plan.

Thank you ladies for your advice! This is super helpful. You’re right, I do have relatively good skin and I wouldn’t want to mess that up for the big day by trying out risky products. Thank you. I do enjoy the occasional facial mask tho.
Also, I hadn’t thought about cutting dairy out (not that I eat much of it to begin with). It’s worth a shot; I was considering removing sugar from my diet, however given the work that I do, I think sugar actually gives me a bit of beneficial energy.
