- Wedding: September 2014
Hey bees, so after 2.3 years of engagement, I am a married woman. Here are some little tidbits about the wedding day (and a few days prior):
Green, blue, black, and white were our colors. We had a butterfly and bling theme, along with personal touches. I made a blinged out seating chart that was also covered in butterflies. The girls and I did the decorating outside, along with help from my friend later. We put the sashes on the chairs as well. I had 2 dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. We had about 45 people in all.
“Best man” flaked (no responses to call/text or apology), Darling Husband scrambled and got his friend who was already coming to be a groomsmen, and his younger brother the new Best Man.
My little sister did not show, I went out of my way to get her a ride, she apologized, but I am have zero to say to her as of yet.
Darling Husband had to move my car that was not starting into a parking space alone and hurt his back . He hid it well…
Darling Husband also tried to be the DJ, and of course did a terrible job, sigh. It was fine because most folks were too timid to dance!
The venue was unwilling to do certain things that I asked, even though they got my money up front. I refuse to advertise for them, ever. The food was great and everyone had a great time, but I was not impressed with their customer service. I also had to ask for my unity candle back and my cake top disappeared, hmmm… But, it is what it is….
My bridal party was awesome!
All of the vital people showed up and on time!
I can’t recommend the officiant because she is getting out of the business due to a loss of family members right before the wedding. I was just grateful that she showed up, and I said a prayer for her (if you are a prayer, you are welcome to say one, too) she looked to me like someone had stolen her joy.
Cake and cupcakes from House of Cupcakes, best cake and cupcakes ever. I don’t eat regular ones anymore, they are that good and professional! Can’t say enough good things; I worked with Devin, she made my vision a reality. They won with their coffee cupcake on a show called Cupcake Wars. Please google them if you are getting married in the Northeast. Seriously, amazing!!!
Photos from Michael Chadwick! He was not only a photograher, but practically a day of coordinator, haha! He does it all. He made sure the guys looked sharp, checked on things so that I would not leave the room, and just knows what to do! He was worth every single penny (affordable), so happy that I fired the other “photographer”. If your wedding is in the northeast, google him! I can’t say anything about the videographer yet, but he was there as requested!
Kellee, a part-time makeup artist did our makeup and hair for almost nothing!!! She is beyond affordable and did exactly what I asked! She was amazing! If you are having a wedding in the northeast, please let pm me and I will give you her contact information.
I cried like three times at least, sigh, I knew I would…
I am so glad that I did not have a big wedding, so, so glad….
Crying at my Maid/Matron of Honor and bestie’s speech! I was so taken aback and touched by the words of her and my Stepdad-in-law and Mom-in-law!
The little things:
Kid’s gift bags to help keep boredom at bay (they all seemed to have a great time, though!
Personalized unity candle…
Ring box that our son carried our actual rings in. He did great!
Bouquets made by yours truly!
