That happend to me at work last night! There was a roach. I was not okay with it. I don’t do bugs well. My apartment is currently full of tiny annoying fruit flies after Fiance bought me flowers one day. Blah.

@linguo42: I’ve been trying! I’ve scoured everything, they won’t leave! I didn’t notices the flowers had flies at first and they bred in the vase and in my potted plant. 🙁

Centipedes aren’t much fun, but I’d like to tell you about the horrors that are the mukade, otherwise known as Japanese centipedes.

These tiny spawns of Satan are about six inches long, extremely aggressive, lightning fast, and so poisonous that a single bite has been known to kill small children and the elderly.  Even a healthy adult will end up out of commission for several days while they are in incredibly severe pain and the bitten body part swells to the size of a watermelon.  Also, they often travel in pairs, and they like to just drop on you from the ceiling.

Around this time last year, when I was still living in Japan, I had to wake up really early one morning.  I rolled out of bed, turned on the light, and then found this crawling across my pillow:

It was just a baby (read: three inches long.  To give you an idea of size, the bottle that monster is in is a two-liter bottle, so it’s BIG), but I screamed like a little girl for about three minutes.  Then I found that empty plastic bottle, trapped it inside, and kept him there for seven days until he finally died.  The bastard.

I would wake up in the middle of the night for WEEKS afterward because I kept thinking its mate was in bed with me, and even now, although I’m living on the opposite side of the globe where the monsters can’t get me, I’ll jump about a foot into the air if I see a small stick on the ground of approximately the right size.

If you want to give yourself nightmares, go to YouTube and look up mukade vs. mouse.

Just because I hate centipedes and because I would be TRAUMATIZED to see one kill a mouse…here’s one where the mouse wins!

@MightySapphire:  Wait, WHAT?  No, I just watched your link.  I hate you.  That’s one where the centipede takes down a SNAKE.  You’ve just made my nightmares so much worse.
