@icanhearyousmile:  A quote from the second woman: “He is so obstinate”

THAT is the problem- not the peas, not the toothpaste, but their overall attitudes towards their differences in opinion and lack of communications skills and the ability to compromise on minor stuff.

So….. the straw that broke the camel’s back…..

@icanhearyousmile:   clearly there should be a pre-marriage test regarding eating peas and squeezing toothpaste.   for those people at least.

Can you imagine if this was a post on the bee?

“Thinking of divorcing my H because he doesn’t squeeze the toothpaste tube correctly!!! How do I make him change and save the marriage???”

Ha, it’s like the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry breaks up with his girlfriend over the way that she eats peas!

LOL, I HATE how my fiance squeezes the toothpaste in the middle of the tube!  But I would probably just purchase separate tubes of toothpaste before I’d divorce him over it.  😀

In another case highlighted by the paper, a woman attempted to divorce her husband after he insisted on squeezing toothpaste tubes in the middle and not at the end.

Is it bad that I can see where she’s coming from?

I have a reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyyyyy hard time believing that you could love someone enough to marry them but honestly be so disgusted by the way he eats peas to divorce him!  I feel like the peas are an excuse, you know?  Either this was an arranged marriage that she can get herself out of, or she really doesn’t like him and married him for some other reason and this is an excuse?

I could be totally wrong, but… I just…. what?!

@icanhearyousmile:  while I think this is absolute ludacris, I have to admit:  because we have a kid together, I will still ocassionally have a meal with my ex– and because he was such a mean, selfish person– it drove me to the point where every single thing he did became ugly.  Including eat.  Now time has healed a lot of what I hated him for- and we get along pretty OK most times in terms of parenting— but to this day, I absolutely hate the way he looks when he eats.

Mind you, this was after 6 years of alcoholism-induce behaviors from him.

How long had that couple known eachother?  This was the FIRST time they shared peas?  LOL

True love at it’s finest.

@icanhearyousmile:  Maybe your guess is right and she didn’t have the opportunity to get to know him better.

And it’s not like he’s eating the peas WITH toothpaste (actually that’s what I understood when I first read your post LOL) or eating with his mouth open, or even doing anything else disgusting.

She has issues……
