Good Morning Bee’s! It’s cold here in Virginia so as I sit in my footie PJs I got from last Christmas lets go on a wedding dress adventure! Firstly as stated above I’ve already admitted that I am a dress twin with some other Bee’s so I decided to finally post my own, well post, about my wedding dress. First let it be known that all the pictures unless stated other wise is personal pictures and any funny faces in the pictures were made to make certain family members(aka Mommy Sea Turtle) from crying too much.
The first dress I ever tried on and actually didn’t mind and that everyone pretty much loved but no tears was an Allure Dress style 8822:
While this dress was great and very romantic the full ballgown was just not my thing and quite frankly I wasn’t too fond of all the beading. This pretty much was the last dress I tried on from the visit to the Salon and was the last thing I wanted to do on my day considering I had just gotten four teeth removed the day before and still had taken none of the pain killers for it yet! (I didn’t take anything cause I did’t feel any pain until about the thrid day when I was apparently talking too much)
There was another visit to a different salon that day where I tried on a lovely Casablanca Dress but my fiancee in-two did not like it one bit although it more closly resembled the dress I did finally get.
Sorry its a small picture but this is Casablanca style 1995 via http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/28/386#.UpI8xNJDsfU
Now this was the absolute last time that I tried on dresses worth mentioning in this post until back in June when we went to visit my mother and she decided we were going to try on dresses again but this time without my fiancee and with my grandmother instead. We went to a David’s Bridal store close to Altoona, PA and in hand I had a list of dresses that I wanted to try on. While Liz (our consultant) was searching for the dresses on my list I was roaming the stacks of dresses and picked out one of them in particular. Through further searching I constantly went back to this dress so my grandmother noticed and made sure it was one I tried on. The rest of these are personal photos so bear with me on facial expressions!
The first one I tried on was a Vera Wang White collection dress with the Style being:VW35112
As you can see I wasn’t all too happy in this one. There was nothing wrong with the style or the fit or even the color (I love blush dresses) it was those little flower things that were bothering me and quite frankly just looked floopy in the back. SORRY VERA!
Next was the dress I kept going back to but I’ll save that for last! So the last dress I actually tired on before deciding was just to make sure that the dress I choose was THE DRESS. Once again it was a Vera Wang White Dress with the style being: VW35116
Again notice my expression is not all too happy. Now the only think wrong with this one was all that poof at the bottom. I absolutly loved the fit and all that lace, even the little hidden ones in the skirt but that bottom was just too much for me and pleased no one.
Now without anymore waiting I present to you the dress I actually got that brought my whole family who was present to tears in just one look and the dress I said yes to,
Here it is fokes! The dress my mother purchased for me as a wedding present! As stated in a different post from a fellow Dress Twin, I did not have to get any alterations to the length of the dress because with my shoes on it did not touch the floor hardly and they put me in a size smaller than the one in the picture because it fit better. This dress also closely resembles the Casablanca dress but not the same in the fact that you could see the hems in the Casablanca and not really here in this Davids Bridal signature dress. The only thing left to do is get the bustel placed in it (french style) and figure out all the little accessories. I love the lace and the fit and its even got beading for my mother and to add a little bling but one of the big pluses to this dress was the back of it,
(please excuse my akward arm and hand) A corset back is my absolute favorite! Plus with all that beading on the sides it just adds to the elegance.
We’ll Bee’s what do you think? Do you think I picked the absolute right dress for me or did you like other ones better?
