So there’s a venue that I’m not really that interested in, but I contacted them to get some comparison pricing. In most of my other contact emails I’ve specified that it’s a wedding reception but this time I decided to drop the word to see the response. Here’s what I got back:
What kind of reception are you interested in? Are you interested in wedding reception information? We have different fees for wedding receptions and other types of receptions, so that is why I ask. Please let us know and we can send you information.
Haha okay. Trying to mute my snark button when responding, but I’d like to think that a reception is a reception because a party is a party, it shouldn’t matter if I happen to be wearing a big white dress, because I’m just interested in the facility rental. They’re not adding anything to the venue for it, just some more $ on my tab!
So Bees, we know that mentioning the W word means that vendors feel entitled to raise the price – got any stories about a not-so-subtle wedding-inquiring vendor looking to give you a higher price?
