One of my husband’s relatives sent us a meat/food slicer machine for our wedding that I’m 98% sure he bought from Bed Bath and Beyond. I don’t really think we’ll ever use it and we don’t have space to keep it on the counter or store it.
We didn’t register at Bed Bath and Beyond, and I don’t have a gift receipt for the item. do you think they’d take it back for cash? Or for merchandise credit (we really don’t need anything from BBB so would much rather have cash)? Or maybe they wouldn’t take it back at all without a receipt or something?
The item is new in the box and my local store carries the product.

Try, the worst they can do is say no.

You might as well try! Especially if it’s something you’ll never use. And your honey has no problem returning a gift from a relative.

I would just try and see what happens. Most stores seem to really be cracking down on returns without a reciept. Some actually put a limit on the number you’re allowed and most will only give you store credit for the current price of the item. Never hurts to ask though and see what they say.

We returned stuff from there and what we had left over after exchanging they put on a gift card.

@Jennlee: They won’t give you cash for it. But if they have the exact item, you might be able to get in store credit.

Likely they’ll give you in store credit at the lowest sale price in their system.

@Jennlee: If they won’t take it back there, try Kohls. They’ll take back almost anything if they’ve carried it at one point…
