I’m in hiding. You may know who I am but please don’t out me.
My child’s father and I have had some real issues in the past. He gave up his rights to the child and I waived child support.
At first this worked out fine as I let my child still have visits with him but then his normally threatening behavior towards me took a violent term.
I then persued and was given a restraining order that forbids him from contacting me or coming with 100 yards of me, my home, my work or my child’s school or other recreational places. It is very difficult to get a long term restraining order in the state I live in if that is any indication of how bad things had become.
Around Christmas, I had the restrainig order amended to allow him to have supervised visitation with my child. A close family friend of both of ours supervises. We both had to appear in court-meaning I had to take a day off from work. We both agreed to the ammended order.
Last night he wrote an email to said friend telling him to tell me that if I don’t drop the order he will cut off all contact with my child. Besides being an obviously douchebag thing to do, I wonder if he broke the law.
My question- can I call the police? Doesn’t a restraining order forbid him from telling someone to tell me something? Said friend lives at my house! It is the fact that he specifically mentioned the restraining order that has be concerned.
I don’t really want him to get into trouble but I NEED him to stop. This has gone on for over four years.
