Maybe this one could be an alternative?

Try searching for “wrap dresses” instead of sarong dress and see if that helps. Instead of “retro”, search for halter or sweetheart neckline wrap dresses. Then look through the colors/prints available?

girlfriday91:  Have you thought of finding a fabric you like and having a seamstress make them? It’s a fairly easy style and fabric.

You’ll most likely be able to find something when you actually get to Maui. Just hit up a more touristy area, they’re loaded with them. I live on Oahu and you can buy sarongs at Costco even…

Try Blue Ginger and Hilo Hattie. There are more shops, but I’m having a brain fart…

Is your fiance wearing brown or taupe/beige? Cause brown seems odd for a tropical wedding.

Option 1

It’s a less literal interpretation of your Hawaiian theme, but what about this dress in orange (I’m a bit concerned about a print next to your fiance’s brown suit): http://www.nyandcompany.com/nyco/prod/new/dresses/wrap-front-maxi-dress-/A-prod6900017/?An=102698#.Vzf2-oRie1s

And have the bridesmaids carry orange and hot pink flowers.

They also have that dress in a pink floral if you can change your fiance’s mind: http://www.nyandcompany.com/nyco/prod/dresses/all-dresses/Floral-Wrap-Maxi-Dress/A-prod6900016/#.Vzf2P4Rie1s

Option 2

Very pretty but would have to give up your pink dream: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2498746/womens-chaps-floral-surplice-faux-wrap-dress.jsp’ defer=’defer

You’re welcome. There are a lot of floral dresses on Asos. I was perusing looking for rehearsal dinner dresses and saw a ton today.

I love the hot pink and orange combo. That’s what I am doing for my flowers. Everything else is neutral.

I would definitely steer him towards a taupe in a tropical weight. I had a similar “talk” with my fiance when he wanted a suit better suited for the dead of winter. But the orange tie is awesome.
