I read your previous post so I could have a better understanding before I gave my opinion. I believe your SO has clearly stated his feeling for you and what you mean to him. It sounds like this man not only loves you unconditionally but wants a future with you. Unfortunately the last sentance has me a bit baffled, he states “We can be whatever we want to be, someday, soon” and I’m confused. We can be whatever we want to be sounds more like a pep talk for somebody making a life changing decision. Kind of like talking to a friend and inserting “you” for “we”. “You can be whatever you want to be” so that part doesn’t make sence to me. That part where he says “someday, soon” is confusing as well. To me, the word “someday” means in the future. It’s a wishy washy was of saying “I don’t know when” and the word “soon” is a day in the near future possibly a few days, weeks or a month.

If it was me I’d straight up ask him how he feels about marrying you. I know marriage is important to you and even though you can’t turn back time I believe before you moved in with him you should have made it a bit more clear that you’re marriage minded. I don’t think he should feel pressured if you ask him for a straight answer. The answers he’s been giving you haven’t been exactly easy to read.

First, I haven’t read any of your other posts… so my take on this is strictly from THIS topic.

“… Partner, significant other, lover, fiancee, wife, girlfriend, soulmate, all fall short in describing our relationship and depth of my love for you. We can be whatever we want to be, someday, soon…..! XOXOXOXOXOXO”

Sounds to me as if he’s saying… you are his EVERYTHING.

Partner – SO – Lover – Financee – Wife – Girlfriend – Soulmate … but then so much more beyond that.

The we can be whatever we want to be … to me means, “Call it whatever you want… because you truly are them all”

And the someday soon… part… means “in a short while it won’t matter what we call each other, because we TRULY will be all them by definition”

Personally, I’m hearing those magic words… “Will You Marry Me” in your future… and probably sooner than you think.

I, too, got a little teary eyed. What a beautiful email to send you, so full of love and commitment and promise.

FWIW – Fiance and I always tell each other that it’s so wonderful to know and feel like we are each other’s true partner in life. We are walking through life side by side, facing everything together, and supporting each other 100%. It’s an amazing feeling and just so right.

I think it’s sweet. Maybe he used the word “partner” because of the other person he was emailing? Maybe fiance/girlfriend was too mushy for that type of email or relationship he has with that person? I’m glad you called him on it though, I wouldn’t want to be called partner. And I’m glad he responded the way he did. I sense a little sarcasm, although I don’t know him and may be way off, but it’s in a playful way and still very sweet.

@wahine777:  Wow, that is so adorable.  Definitely sounds like he wants to marry you someday.  When, is the question.  If you’re patient and ok with how things are now, sit tight.  If you need more concrete information, perhaps it’s time to sit him down and have the “timeline” talk.  (I say this without having read your previous post, sorry.)  But man, he sounds like a keeper!
