We are trying to figure out what beer to serve at our wedding this July. We were looking to get 3 or 4 different kinds of beer. We were thinking a light beer (bud light, Coors light, miller light, etc.), A Summer beer (Possibly Landshark or Corona), then something like blue moon or shock top.
Our meal will be plated barbecue. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I see that you are from NY.. any microbrews you like from your home state?

Blue Moon and Fat Tire are my go-to’s. Killians is also pretty popular at weddings. I ditto the PP and see if there are any good microbrews in the area.

Brooklyn Brewery has some terrific beers. The Brooklyn Brown Ale is very popular here in VA. And it’s always nice if you can spend money locally (we’re doing two local beers for our bar: Devil’s Backbone Vienna Lager, and Williamsburg Alewerks Coffeehouse Stout).

I agree with microbrews.
On the other hand, I was shocked that the one beer that we ran out of in the first 30 minutes (oops! Good thing we had lots of other choices) was Negra Modelo. Great, easy drinking, warm weather beer.

Why not something from Ithaca, or Brooklyn Brewing company? Those macrobrews are not very good.

I am from Quebec and Fiance is from Michigan. We met in Cleveland. and we are getting married around Christmas!
Unibroue beers (from Qc); Founders and Bell’s (from MI);
and Great Lakes Brewery (Cleveland) –> especially the Christmas ale… oh my goodness!
so maybe you can include beers from meaningful places in you and your FI’s lives..?

I’m a big fan of Honeyweiss, Blue Moon, and Spotted Cow.
Fiance loves Fat Tire, Fat Squirrel, Capital Amber and PBR (of all things lol).
