SoNLoveWithHim:  We’re planning to, but since we’re both students and I don’t know if I’ll find a job right away in a few months, we might fall a bit short before the day we get married. It really all depends how long it takes me to find a steady job, what my new income will be, etc. Nothing I can have total control on right now. It’s hard to plan until I know for sure what our new situation will be like after I enter the job market, but we’re doing the best we can with what we currently have, and we kept our wedding budget small (7K or under). Also, here people usually offer cash gifts, and we’re pretty confident that we will not have to carry any debt related to the wedding.

Yep! We pushed ours back a year so that we wouldn’t have any wedding debt.

Our wedding has cost us around $40,000, our parents have split our wedding cost in half. We still have two more vendors to choose but we are trying to cap everything around $50,000. It has been a very very smooth ride since everyone knows their role and no debt makes matters so much easier. We are paying for our honeymoon, bridal party gifts, and etc.

SoNLoveWithHim:  We are paying all cash, which is why we’re having a $3,000 wedding all inclusive (including rings and no honeymoon) cause that’s exactly what we can afford short of leaving us broke, broke. I would never even consider going into debt, borrowing money or asking my parents for money to pay for this wedding. It’s one day. An important day, but not worth paying more than we can currently afford. It will still be a nice day even with our limited guest list and homemade dinner.

No debt! Bank of Mom and Dad (bride’s parents) are taking care of almost every expense. 2 daughters marrying withing 15 months, too. I’m (MOB) a judicious saver and investor and put money aside and invested for the girls since birth, including gift money. Rarely have I made a decision; i.e. I said no to chiavari charis (they’re torture to sit on) and got chair covers instead, and said no to fancy rental chargers at $8 each, when the venue already supplies a decorated plate, under the soup.

SoNLoveWithHim:  His parents and my parents have passed, so we paid ourselves. About $10,000. We have no debt from it, but it was tough financially the months after to keep up with other bills.
