I received a suspicious email from someone offering to buy my wedding dress. The email said:
Good day,I want to purchase your item for what is the last price ?I will like to pay using PayPal,After payments has been made,I will arrange for the pick-up and will you let my pick-up agent to come to you house for the pick up? Because i don\'t want you to worry yourself about the shipment. You can send me some pic to my email address [email protected]
RegardsS______ ___________ (Im blocking off his name and email in case this guy is legit...which Im doubting)
Anyway I cant tell you this is a definite scammer but to me it sounds like it. It also looks computerised because there is no space between the periods and commas and new sentances starting.
I contacted Paypal and I was advised that anyone that sends you a suspicious payment or tells you contacting paypal is not nessasary is most likely a scammer. They said when you receive an email from paypal onfirming payment was made NEVER just ship the item - log into your own account and get confirmation payment was received and cleared from YOUR paypal account. Many scammers send a fake email from Paypal saying the payment was made - typically it will be addressed to your email and not to your name.
I told this guy that I contacted Paypal and I will be verifying his payment with them directly and if he wants to have someone pick up the dress I will be meeting that person in a bank with a legal document he would have to sign before a notary stating it was received. Bee's be aware there are scammers preying upon us even in this site. My precious wedding dress is not about to be stolen from me :-(
