Is there any way that the Bee could be more secure?

@MrsPaperFlowers:  I think it’s probable that someone who knows you and your friend is on the bee and they thought your friend should know what you were saying? Ugh, IDK why someone would do something like that but it seems like the most reasonable explanation. OP I’m really sorry this is happening to you and I’m glad your friend is being so good about this.

Crap like THIS is the reason why I don’t post pictures of myself or my family on the bee. I have said things on here about people in my life that I NEVER want them to see and I don’t know what I would do if they found out. There is one bee on here who I suspect I know in real life and there are probably more so I guess I’ll just have to draw some pictures of my wedding or something when it’s my turn to post a recap lol.

I don’t understand. Did you share a lot of specific, identifying info on that thread? And the person it was about recognized it was about them?

Or, like a random bee figured out your real identity and the real identity of the two(?) people mentioned, and contacted them? Using some kind of super-sleuthing skills used for totally the wrong purpose? Do you know who that is, if so? Seems like it should be a bannable offense.

Anyway, sorry your conversation here got to eyes it wasn’t intended for.

Sorry this happened to you! So glad your friend isn’t upset though.

Yes, each user is allowed one name change request. To do so, all you have to do is go to Support and post a thread and we will respond! http://support.weddingbee.com/

Please also note that images can be searched on Google so anything identifying could have been easily found. Unfortunately the internet is a very large place, you just have to be careful what you post!

@MrsPaperFlowers:  maybe if you give the mods the info you know about her, they can figure out who it was. I guess you probably don’t have her IP address or anything, though. Sounds like you know her real identity but not her bee identity?

Yeah, I often wish the Bee was private so that only members could view posts – or maybe just certain posts like ones in “Emotional” and whatnot. Of course anyone could become a member, but it would certainly make me feel better that not everyone in the universe could read, but they would at least have to go through a little effort.

@MrsPaperFlowers:  Maybe they made an anonymous google account? Just because you don’t recognize the account, doesn’t mean you don’t know the person.  I think it’s a pretty far stretch that some random stranger on the internet who doesn’t know you could possibly find out who this friend of yours is.
