I am just trying to get a feel for Bee’s that had a string quartet for the Ceremony/Reception that played classical AND popular hits like lady gaga, the beatles, john mayer etc etc.
We have booked Divisi Strings for our ceremony and reception and we are beyond thrilled! We just have never seen/heard anything like it. They play Classical melodies by Bach for example and also instumental versions of Lady Gaga’s poker face and Hey Jude by the beatles, for another example.
Has anyone gone this route? What was the feedback?

Okay, so coming from a musical background and having a pro. classical musician for a Fiance, playing pop is 1000x easier than playing any typical ceremony music- so yeah, should be a piece of cake for a classical musician to rehearse and play pop renditions- the trick is finding someone willing to do it. It’s like asking Van Gogh to do a color-in-the-lines picture for you.

The band I booked is amazing at it! It’s their specialty! When I heard them do Poker Face in string, my jaw hit the floor. Even my fiance had a check out before the end of the song! LOL 🙂 I’m confident in them, just curious if anyone else had done the same and if it went over well with the dancing and things at the reception! Thanks for the feedback!

We did and our guests loved it!
For our ceremony we had four classical songs and two Coldplay songs. During cocktail hour they played a mix of classical and pop.
