I selected my parents are married and still together, however it is only partially true. My dad passed away 5 years ago, a couple of months after their 25th wedding anniversary, but I have no doubts in my mind that were he still around, they would still be happily together.

@bunnyharriet: my parents were married and together for about 5 years. They separated when I was around 3.

My parents married one another and have been together for 35 years, I believe. There have been some struggles in their marriage, especially lately, but I do think that they love each other enough to fight through them.

My parents have been married for 21 years. The real question is are they happy together?

My parents are each other’s first marriage and are still married to one another, unfortunately. Maybee now that my youngest sister is off to college, they can call off the charade and move on with healthy lives and relationships. I hope so, for both their sakes.

My parents have been married for almost 44 years. They have considered divorce many times and do not have a happy marriage.

My parents were married before they had my sister and I. They broke up when I was a teenager but they didn’t bother to divorce until I was like 25, lol. Now they are both remarried and my dad has 2 more kids.

My parents never married and separated after 8 years together.

My parents married in 77 and appear to still be happy! (ps they are both pushing 60! I love my genes!)
SOs parents have been together just as long and appear to be happy. They argue-but who doesn’t.
I am interested to see all of these considering SO and I are currently expecting and are not even thinking about getting married yet (both in our 30s and he is divorced).
Nice to see that there are some people who are still together who had the baby before the ring.

@bunnyharriet: My parents have been married for 26 years and counting. They got married in their late 20s after meeting in college. FI’s parents have also been married for over 20 years, but they’re 10 years younger than my parents. They got married in their early twenties and got pregnant with Fiance (the oldest) shortly after. Whereas I’m the middle child, born after they’d been married for 7 years. The generation/culture/religious gap has created some interesting problems with them getting to know each other. My parents get along better with FI’s grandparents!

They were married for 28 years, and separated last year, they are going through court stuff now to settle things with their divorce. I was born a year and a month after they got married. I’m their only child together.
Throughout my childhood up until last year I used to think I was so lucky to have my parents still together…so many of my friends’ parents were divorced/remarried/etc. Le sigh.

My parents were married about ten years and then divorced. I think it made me nervous about marriage, but now that my Fiance and I have been together almost that long I think I can be confident that we will last. So nice to hear about all the marriages that last!!
