So Fiance and I have checked out 15 venues in our area (he’s the groomzilla – it’s not me, I swear!).. we have narrowed things down to 3 options. Please please help us choose! And if you don’t mind and have some time, provide some reasoning why I know ultimately it’s up to our tastes, but we’re curious what others would choose!
1. Nanina’s In the Park -http://www.naninasinthepark.com/
(Daytime wedding only on either Sat/Sun of any month). PM wedding was wayyyy too expensive!
Known to have spectacular amounts & quality of food, have entire facility to yourself for your wedding, good service.. beautiful ballroom as well as gorgeous grounds with a bridge, koi pond.. picture-heaven
2. Maritime Parc – http://maritimeparc.com/
(Night time wedding in either JAN or FEB)
Modeled after the Guggenheim Museum, completely different and modern with our reception to take place in a hall with ultra-modern lights, venue right beside the Hudson River so great views.. Possibility of 2 weddings at a time
3. Westmount Country Club – http://www.westmountcc.com/index_flash.html
(Night time wedding in JAN/FEB/MAR)
Very “Miami”.. More modern but very luxurious feel.. Possibility of 2 weddings at a time.. “Tried and true” wedding venue.. excellent food & service are what they pride

I chose the first because it’s the prettiest, and I think there’ll be more flexibility with when you can have your wedding. I also like that there would only be one wedding at a time. What hours would you be relegated to?

Wow, I am so jealous of the beautiful venue choices you have! Here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, we have basically squat. I say go for whichever’s cheapest, because they’re all beautiful!

Unless you want a summer wedding, I’d go for the last one. All three venues are beautiful, but I think it’s very helpful to work with people who specialize in weddings. They will be the most professional and helpful and you will find yourself needing to do less and worry about less in the weeks up to the wedding and on the actual day.

They are all so pretty!! I really like #3 for the high ceiling.

i like 1 and 3. but i really like the idea of having only 1 wedding at a time. and i also think guests pay major attention to food, so if they have a good reputation of that then ya cant go wrong!

Number 3 caught my eye at first glance! They are all very beautiful~

I like #3 the best. It is beautiful. I prefer to have a tried and true venue then have to worry about everything going smoothly at the reception.

I went to a wedding reception at Westmount CC last year and had a great time. The food was good (from what I remember…but not sure if they used in-house catering or not) and really liked the ambience.
There were two weddings going on that night, which resulted in a slight issue at the end of the night when it was time to leave. Both weddings let out at the same time and there was a short wait to get our car from valet. It wasn’t a big deal and not like it put a damper on the evening or anything. I also seem to remember there being one bathroom for both the weddings. I don’t remember having to wait, but it was kind of crowded in there at times.
Overall I think it was a great venue and could see myself getting married there if I lived in the area.

I looked at all three of these venues, amoung others. Out of these, I like Maritime Parc – the city views are AMAZING and the food is great! I’ve been to a few weddings as Nanina’s, they have all been great, but I personally didn’t feel like it was the right place for my wedding.

I just liked the third best, but they are all beautiful! I don’t think you can go wrong. I would think about whether month and time of day are important to you– that may help.

I chose #3 because you said it was tried and true but it’s very elegant and has classic good looks.

Thanks so much, ladies!!
@MrsBot: Having 2 weddings occurring simultaneously doesn’t bother me much, but the Westmount ones are so close to one another too! Thanks for your input 🙂
@AmyFarrahFowler: It’s so awesome to hear that someone else on this site knows of Maritime Parc! Where are you choosing for yours, dear?
