I like the non-matching band. I like that it is slimmer and wont take away from your e ring at all. I also think the milgrain on it is really pretty and will look really nice next to your other ring. Also, i am not a matchy-matchy person, I like having a little more character in my rings. I think the second ring would look amazing, and you really can’t beat the $280 price tag!

The ONLY reason I would go with number 1 over number 2 is that it is an eternity band, and you never have to worry about the diamonds not being lined up. I used to have a half-eternity and it drove me crazy making sure they were lined up all the time. But if that wont bother you, then number 2 is a great choice!

The only thing I have to suggest is to get bands in MATCHING GOLD. I didn’t think to check this when I bought my wedding band, and my e-ring is 14k, and my w-band is 18k. There is a definite difference in colour, with one being quite a bit more ‘yellow’ than the other (they’re both white gold).

If that doesn’t bother you, then choose the one you like best. Otherwise, go for the matching gold!

@redsmarties:  Really, you see a difference? My e-ring is 18k white gold and my wedding band is 14k white gold and I can’t tell a difference at all. They look exactly the same.

OP, I think both are very nice and equally pretty. I tend to like the smaller bands though, because I think they let the center stone stand out more. 🙂

I personally would go for the matching band, though it is wider. I wouldn’t worry about it looking weird that the wedding band is an eternity but your ering is half. My wedding ring is also a full eternity and my ering is about 1/2 (more like 3/4) and you can’t tell unless I am holding my hand palm-up. 2 mm is pretty thin; I have 1.8 mm and it’s fine. I had my band custom made to be exactly the width of my ering so if I had a 1.5 mm wedding band with a 2 mm ering, that would bother me. If you were to wear just the band, I think a 1.5 mm will look too thin whereas I think a 2 mm could look good on its own (though still thin).

    your engagement ring is stunning!

i say get the non-matching, since you can’t resize eternity bands down the road!

Oops, just double checked before I posted a pic! My e-ring is 14k and my wedding ring is 10k. False alarm! I’m sure PP is right and you won’t notice a difference between 14 and 18.

I like matching bands better.  However, since your e-ring is not curved and has a flat edge a slimmer band would look very pretty with it.

I like the non matching band best.
