Please tell me your thoughts on this dress. I am not sure if this is the route I want to take with my bridal gown? Is the gown over-dramatic?? To the point that it no longer looks bridal? I also attatched a picture of the bridesmaids dresses below.

@ChristyK: I honestly DON’T like the Bridesmaid dress at all…
but that gown looks AMAZEBALLS on you

I think it is perfect in every way.

It is a stunning gown. With that said. It does not go with the bridesmaids look. No rule that you have to though. Venue and style of wedding information may help decide.

I think both dresses look great together. You are the bride, you will look amazing no matter what any one else is wearing. I happen to love your choice in bridesmaids dresses! So glam 🙂

I LOVE your dress! Totally bridal and WOW! 😀

Thanks ladies, yes the Bridesmaid or Best Man gowns are hit/miss with some people. BUT I loved them soo much I even bought one for myself!!

That dress looks amazing on you and really compliments your figure. It’s dramatic yes, but it’s a very bridal-y type of drama IMO. And with all of the sparkle in the bridesmaids dresses I think they compliment your dress well. They’re both very glamorous and I love it!

Actually, I think with a Bridesmaid or Best Man dress like that you have to go a bit dramatic & glam, and I think your gown choice above does that. I think they look great together. 🙂

@ChristyK: You look amazing in that dress! However, I still voted that you shouldn’t say yes to it … At least not yet. You sound so unsure in your post about the overall look you’re going for and how “bridal” you want your dress to be. I’d suggest trying on several different dresses to get a better feel for what you like best. If the date listed is correct, you have plenty of time to decide … And I’d say take some time making the decision. You don’t want to end up with dress regret!
Oh, and I actually do like the bridesmaid dresses you’ve chosen. They’re really different and fun (they remind me of a very glam 1920s look), and I can see why you’d want one for yourself!

How much do you have to move around during the day? That dress looks very restrictive and if you want to dance and move around a lot I don’t know if it’s practical. It all depends on the experience you are looking for.
I love the bridesmaids dresses.

Keep the opinions coming ladies! They are really helping.
the wedding date moved to June 28,2014 since my Fiance is Army and he is deploying. I have been looking for THE gown since April. The other option was Vera Wang Gemma. Very similar in silhouette but different structuring. The Gemma didn’t give me illusion of having hips, as I really don’t have any hips in real life 🙂

totally made for you. i no what u mean i tried on many fishtail shapes and some didnt feel like wedding dresses. but you look drop dead gorg! and i think the ruffles and colour still make it look very bridal!

As far as movement, I can walk but have not tried sitting down. Our wedding will be at the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown.
Have any other bees not been able to sit in your dress? And how did that effect your night?

I reckon that if you have been looking at Gemma, then this is the kind of silhoutte you are after. I voted yes because it looks ridiculously amazing on you! Great choice… the perfect amount of drama. Its once in a lifetime afterall, I’d go all out 🙂
