It’s getting cold and the guys at my office still have the A/C on throughout the day! I’m working as a paralegal in a small law office and all of the men are actually ex-college football players so I guess their bodies run at a higher temp!
Bees, what do you wear when it’s cold and to still remain professional? And fashionable? I just graduated in June and this is my first “real” job, so I’m clueless! And I’m the only female here so I don’t have any guidance, haha. I’m tempted to just bring in a parka every day!
Help me to not freeze to death!! Also happy Friday, everyone!! 😀

I have a little space heater that my company bought for me. Keeps me nice & toasty!

@MrsHoneyBear: I wear cardigans. Wool or wool/silk blends are nice and warm. Silk is actually warmer than wool, so the blends are nice and even thin ones are toasty but also have beautiful drape and look great.

Our air is still on too and my coworkers and I have actually been wearing fleece jackets at our desk :/
I typically wear only sweaters during the winter but I’m still cold (even when the heat is on). I am one of four females on my floor and we all bring in small heaters that we keep under our desks which helps a lot. Do you think they would let you do this?

You can wear thermal pants under slacks, I love layering. That way once my body heats up I can shed as the day progresses.

@MrsHoneyBear: Tights, boots, sweaters (long, loose) make any outfit and are extremely professional. Also, you might want to invest in a small space heater. I have one and use it almost every morning during the winter months.

I’m always freezing here. I have a space heater on and I’m wearing a fleece sweater now. Unless I have an important meeting, I don’t really care if I look slightly less professional when I’m so damn cold that I can’t focus on my work. It’s like this in the summer too. We always have people trying to fix the heat on our floor, but it never seems to work. And then someone complains it’s too hot when it’s finally just right. It sucks. Like my biggest work complaint!!! Lol.

@nber0815: +1. Hiding that under your desk is a life saver.
And also, +1 to @MexiPino:. There are some very professional looking sweaters. I just bought one actually and it was on sale to boot!

I have a space heater.
But besides that I wear my coat because I always underestimate how cold it gets in my office!

Sweaters and scarves keep me warm during the winter months. 🙂

My office is always freezing! I keep an extra sweater there in the winter but I also have a space heater, which I don’t always use (and which I had to pay for – those who got it for free are lucky!), and a heating pad from Walmart that I use every day. They’ve enhanced my quality of life so much! I also often keep my scarf on for the first hour or two of arriving at work. 🙂

I finally snuck the heat on in my office when no one was looking. And everyone else’s reactions was to open the doors so we get a nice 50 degree breeze cutting through the office. I’ve been wearing silk leggings and tops under my clothes and still freeze.
I work with all men and two women who are both going through “the change” so I brought a blanket it. No one has asked about it (yet) as I just throw it over my lap so my desk blocks it from view. But mostly I figure professionalism goes out the door when the office is this cold.

My little heater under my desk is a life saver. I’m ALWAYS cold at work.

Space heater under the desk and cardigans. Lifesaver.
