Please bear with me I’m typing this on my iPhone, sorry for any grammatical errors.
So if you couldn’t tell by the title, I’m disappointed. I was on Facebook the other day and this girl I went to high school with posted some pretty pictures of this light show at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It’s called Blossom Lights and there are a million shiny sparkling lights lighting up all the trees bushes and plants. It’s BEAUTIFUL! I’ve been DYING to go there since I was a kid, because they have this event every year right before Christmas. Well I suggested to my SO on Thursday when we were talking about plans and what to do this weekend that I wanted to take him out for a surprise- darn boy GUESSED it! So I said yes I want to go it’ll be fun and very romantic, so he said “is that a hint?!” I said maybe (inside I was screaming YES DO IT ALREADY!) seriously it couldn’t be a better place.
Fast forward to to last night as we were paying to get in, he tells me his sister and BIL had their wedding photos taken there after they were married in a nearby church (this was over 12 years ago)…
We are walking through and it was beautiful! It also started snowing those big pretty fluffy flakes, everyone was oohing and aahing at the lights and music. There even was a “Lovers Corner” with mistletoe hanging on a tree, we kissed under it and I was HOPING and PRAYING that he’d do it then. All I could see there were other married couples and families…
But no. While he was being sweet, there was no proposal. Even though he KNEW how much I wanted it, he didn’t bring the ring with him because it’s still in the bag in the box on the shelf of our closet where it is starting to collect dust from the nearly TWO MONTHS he’s had the damn thing.

@ColoradoNative: I see a Christmas proposal in your future…

@ColoradoNative: I know these posts are a little less consoling from the other side but it’ll happen! Boys are weird sometimes 😉 maybe he has something up his sleeve?
My ring sat in a box for about that long too so I feel your pain! It’s happens sooner than you think though, I swear 🙂

Darn site erased the last paragraph of my post…
I hope it’ll be on Christmas!!! Months ago, before he bought the ring, he asked what I wanted. I said I don’t need anything but there’s nothing I want more than you with a ring. When we bought the ring, we told my parents and his mom and sister that day- all 4 of them were sworn to secrecy until after the proposal happens.
Between my coworkers, friends and family constantly asking me lately, it’s going to be a ROUGH couple of days, even more so if it doesn’t happen.
Please only words of encouragement, I beg you. I’m so hurt bees

Ohhhhh. I would be so disappointed too. What a perfect place! And you are a saint for being able to handle 2 months wait. Men are so weird and once the ring was purchased I felt tongue-tied asking when even though when it was more nebulous I could talk about months, Etc. Is it like that for you? Men get their plans in their head. Maybe he had some misguided idea that since a family wedding/pics had been done there that it might not be as special. I know, eyes rolling. Buy yourself a bottle of Champagne and toast to what you know is happening soooo soon. The “official” beginning of the wonderful life y’all have planned together. 🙂

I think it just goes to show that while he COULD have, he didn’t! Because he has something else up his sleeve… 🙂 At least you know you have the ring, so it’s happening! Just a matter of time.

@Jaejohns: When my Darling Husband proposed, we were driving for about an hour looking for the “perfect beach.” I knewhe had the ring in his pocket, so I was going NUTS! I had a feeling he would propose because he isn’t very sneaky.;) Anyway, it WAS the perfect beach and we ended up getting married in that very spot 8 werks later. 🙂
