- Wedding: May 2012
i am a long-time lurker and this is my first post! i’m a grad student in school psychology and next year will be my CAGS/internship year (similar to student teaching.) i am also planning a wedding for next year, since grad school isn’t keeping me busy enough!
we’ve been engaged for about 9 months and just started planning. i had assumed that we would have a summer 2012 wedding, that it would be best to wait until the school year ended.
however…the venue search has begun and we are learning that summer wedding prices are pretty daunting! we visited a venue last weekend that we loved…but we couldn’t afford it in june. they have an april saturday available and that “off-season” price is definitely more budget-friendly.
i’m concerned about taking time off during the school year. next year is still training time for me, and i will be in a paid/supervised position. i don’t know if districts frown upon employees taking time off during the middle of the school year to get married, or if i’m just being overly cautious.
does anyone have experience with this? i would like to proceed with the april date but i’m still feeling uncertain…thanks ladies!
