Interesting. I have rocasea.  I used proactive.  I have eczema too and recently had it on my neck, under my chin. I was using proactive at the time and medicine for my eczema.  Wow, was there a bad reaction to the meds and proactive. I had a bad skin rash for 2 weeks!  Proactive also dyed all my towels.  Who wants to use that on their faces?  I started using Dove bar skin for sensitive skin and haven’ thad a problem yet, Nutrogena sensitive cream for my face, oil free.  Been good ever since.

@KCKnd2:  Interesting.  Thanks for sharing!

What was most scary to me was the comparison between a $300 face cream and a much cheaper one.  While I’ve never fallen for the ProActive stuff, I’ve thought that expensive anti-wrinkle creams were better quality that the cheap drug store varieties.

I find this pretty interesting because a few weeks ago I thought about using Proactiv and decided to comb the Bee (no pun intended) for other opinions. I found a thread about it and the results were mixed. I decided not to go for it because of complaints that the product was harsh and that once you stopped using it you broke out again.

Another Bee recommended the acne.org routine, which basically says to be gentle with your skin because skin irritation is a huge cause of acne, and buy some b peroxide cream or gel to use between cleansing and moisturizing. It cost me $4 for a tube of the stuff at Walgreens. It’s been maybe 3 or 4 weeks and the difference is HUGE. I won’t pretend I don’t get a zit once in awhile but it’s one not three zits or a cluster of blackheads. I really wish I had known it was that easy and cheap to get better skin at least 10 years ago.

Anyway, now I’m REALLY glad I didn’t get Proactiv.
