My dad is getting married in two weeks. I’m so excited and happy for him! He’s been with my soon-to-be step mom forever! 15 years, and they’re finally making it official.
I can’t for the life of me think of a gift for them for their special day. My dad helped me out pretty significantly, paying for about a third of my wedding back in June, and my step mom to be poured her heart into every single detail of my wedding making sure everything was perfect. She sewed every one of my burlap runners, recruited her friends to help with flowers, and basically was my lifesaver.
I feel like i can never come close to gifting them what they gifted me! The perfect wedding. I felt so loved! Obviously my dad and his bride aren’t registering, they have everything they could possibly need. I would love to get them an “experience” and I was thinking I would book a hot air balloon ride, how awesome would that be!? The only problem is the nearest place is about 3-4 hours away. I guess they could make a weekend out of the trip, but i’m not sure. What do you think? Any ideas??

Ooooh, how cool. Well if you can swing it, then maybe a hotel room in the area too? So they could really make a weekend of it? I got my dad and stepmom a plant which I know sounds totally lame but we all pitched in for the wedding and they both love to garden so it made sense, haha.
Anyway if the hot-air balloon ride doesnt work because of distance, you’re definitely on to something with the “experience” gift. A gift certificate to a nice restaurant works too, or a couples cooking class if they like to cook.

How about a couples massage at a spa or find an in-home service?

I cant believe i am writing this because i am OBSESSED with going on a hot air ballon ride, but that may not work for everyone. Are they going away at all? What about a gift card for the place they are staying.
I liked PP idea of a couples massage.

Thanks for the ideas! I like the idea of a couples massage. Maybe that would work and a gift certificate to a nice restaurant in the area.
I think they would LOVE the hot air balloon idea, but I can’t really afford to buy that AND hotel reservations. I wish he didn’t live in the middle of nowhere! haha.
They are going on a honeymoon right after the wedding, but it’s already booked and they actually won it, so it’s completely free. They’re going on a caribbean cruise for 7 days. If i knew exactly which one, I could possibly book an excursion, but I don’t really know how to get that info without being obvious.
