I want to frame a wedding photo for my Nana for her birthday.
She is partially sighted and so I want to pick a photo that is quite simple and close-up so that she can see it clearly.
This is the only one of me close up, looking straight at the camera and sort of standing still rather than moving around or whatever.
The only thing is…I think I have a weird look on my face. Not a very natural smile.
What do you guys think? Do you like it or should I chose a different one?
Thanks all! xxx

@Mrs.HMBucks: It’s lovely- go with it

I can kind of see what you mean about the somewhat unnatural smile, but I’m not sure I would have noticed it if you hadn’t pointed it out. Looking at it closely, it really just seems to me like perhaps you were feeling a little nervous when the photo was taken, which is perfectly understandable on your wedding day! I think you should choose this one – better to give her a photo where she can see you clearly, even if you’re showing a tiny bit of bridal nervousness (which I actually think makes you look very sweet and vulnerable – not sure if you think that’s a good thing or not!), rather than a photo in which she can’t really see you.

I agree with the PPs, it is stunning, go for it!

It’s gorgeous, such a lovely idea :]

@JulietFoxtrot: You’ve got skills! You are dead right – we were just about to leave the room for the ceremony and I knew we were running late – the photographer wanted me to stop for a photo and I guess I was thinking ‘ok but come on…we’re already late, we need to GO!’
This is the other one I was thinking but as I said i’m worried that there’s a bit too much going on…it’s more artsy and I love it as a photo but i’m just not sure whether Nana will be able to make it out as clearly…:

@Mrs.HMBucks: You look beautiful and I think you should use it. I don’t think you have a weird look on your face at all. Your smile looks very demure and bridal, plenty natural in my opinion.
I prefer the first photo.

Both pictures are seriously beautiful but as a gift for a person who can’t see very well, I think the first one is better because the background isn’t so bright and busy. Your smile is sweet, not weird at all 🙂

@Mrs.HMBucks: This is tough. I really like the second one.

@Mrs.HMBucks: I love both so would be inclined to get a double frame! 🙂 Either one you pick she will love.

@Mrs.HMBucks: Is there the option of letting your Nana choose? Both pictures are lovely, I love the second one more. The first one I think is clearer, less busy too look at.

@MsMeow: Exactly what I was thinking re: background.

@MsBeer: Could do double frame – but will need to print it out quite big – A4 size, so that she can see it. So bit tricky for a double frame. Was thinking of doing it for my other Grandma though, as she does not have sight issues.
