I think that is something you could splurge on without it weighing on your mind.  It is something that you will have with you forever, and it is freaking adorable!

Those birds are so incredibly adorable!! (And, yes, I had several “had to have splurges” and almost all of them were more than your cake topper!) I think you should get them!

I splurged on my dress, spent $1000 on it. Those wedding cake toppers are SO CUTE! I want one that is $70 and am struggling to spend that much! It’s totally corny and dorky but it is totally us.

@AirForceWife78:  I love your cake topper!  Good call with the splurge.

I have an embarrassing one….

Ok, so we just ordered our invites from Vistaprint and I even used a groupon that I bought last month to keep our costs down.  However.  I opted for the “personalized security print” with our names in it!  Vistaprint prints the inside of your envelopes automatically with the words Vistaprint very tiny over and over (like this)

and you can pay a couple bucks to have it plain.  You can also pay like 7 bucks (per set of envelopes) to have it say whatever you want and I made ours look like this!

It is going to show up so much smaller than that and no one will notice but I LOVE IT!  ๐Ÿ˜›

I just put a deposit down for a 300$ cake topper. I will not be telling a soul how much it cost. I am kind of ashamed I will be spending that much, but I kept hemming and hawing over it. I figured we can keep it as a souvineer to display. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cute!

I impulsively splurged on my shoes, which I didn’t exactly have to have (my mom’s lecture on needs vs wants totally replays in my head every time I think about this), but they were so beautiful.  I got them early on in the planning stages, so too late to return them, but I now wish I had used that money on other wedding expenses… hindsight is a b.

I splurged on a wedding coordinator.  Worth every penny.

I’m still planning, and the percentages we’re spending pretty much fall in the average recommended % for the categories, except for my veil…. I paid $350 which was a total splurge for me.

Those cake toppers are ADORABLE.  I can totally see why you are eyeing them.  And it would be such a nice keepsake too, to remind you of your special day ๐Ÿ™‚

OP, the thing about cake toppers is that you can keep them forever as a souvenir of your big day. So I’d say $170 isn’t crazy unreasonable at all. They are indeed adorable. But I’m a bird person so I’m biased. ๐Ÿ™‚

Our splurges were videography and photo. And even then we paid a tiny fraction of what I think most other people pay. Almost everything else we could do half-arsedly ourselves.
