So, I am going to take my dress to my seamstress in a few weeks (somewhere around the first weeks of June actually) I know it may seem early, but there is quite a bit of work that needs done and she asked that I bring it in during June. I am working out and eating beyond healthy lol, I am positive I will be losing weight between now and October, so I don’t want her to do too much work right now. I asked her to focus on getting the length right for now and she agreed we should wait on the size alterations in case I lose the weight I need to lose in order to fit in my dress correctly.
My problem you ask? SHOES, my favorite thing in the world to shop for…right next to purses maybe. But, I am having problems finding the right shoes for me. I’ve looked online, I’ve looked at shoe stores, department stores, thrift stores even (a quick glance while looking for my vintage reception dress that I am also finding impossible to locate! lol) Maybe I am stingy with money because my budget is so small, but my taste level and stores/online price levels seem to be off. I want a beautiful shoe that I will be glad to wear again, I don’t want to spend a ton of money on a pair of shoes to wear for one day. I thought of vintage shoes, my wedding is an odd mix of modern and vintage and it’s earthy and artsy. Eclectic to say the least.
Where have you ladies been looking for shoes? Or where did you purchase your shoes? I don’t have the energy to DIY some fabulous shoes like I’ve seen on here. I will not spend over $60-80 for shoes. To me that’s just silly. The ones I am finding are in the 100’s and I just wont do it, that’s a million other decorations and things people will actually see the whole night.
I need to buy them soon, because she (my seamstress) needs to know how much to cut off my dress and if I’m not wearing my shoes for that…Well it could turn out badly! lol

I got my shoes at endless.com (they have free shipping AND free return shipping if they don’t fit). My shoes were on sale but I still ended up spending a little over what I imagined I’d be spending. There were exactly what I wanted though (modern color in a vintage-like style), so the little extra splurge was worth it.
I spent $46.90 on my shoes (they were originally ($95!):

There are quite a few options (some are even designer ones) at DSW in the less than $80 price range. It helps if you are open to a bright color, but there were some in white/beige/ivoy last I checked.

I wanted ballet flats with the option to add my own crystals or flowers if I wanted. But again, I didn’t want to spend a ton. I’ve been scouring WeddingBee for over a month trying to find posts of places I could find good flats (I have wide feet so I needed to find something comfy AND cute). I stumbled across the Dessy shop, and found the perfect pair of ballet flats in my size AND color! Apparently the size/color I ordered went out of stock, but they had the exact same thing under a different name and $8 more. They contacted me and offered to send me the same ones, without charging me the extra. They were really great to work with and shipped them really fast!

I haven;t foun dmine yet (well I found them online but want to avoid buying online as I want to try my shoes first). I am also lloing for ballet flats, the blue sparkly kind. I found the silver ones for the Bridesmaid or Best Man at payless and the guy told me they will be getting more in different colors and to check back in June. I don’t want to spend more than $30 the shoes.

$14.00 on eBay. Another bride wore them for her wedding and didn’t see the need to keep them. I had actually purchased the same exact pair from Zappos and already had them delivered, but the $90 price tag was really bugging me. Yay!! Quickly returned them to Zappos and saved $70. 🙂

go shopping at DSW! I got two pairs there (one for ceremony, one for reception because I couldn’t dance in my ceremony shoes) One pair was $35 and the other was $39.

I got mine for $20 at a David’s bridal sale, but I ALWAYS have good luck at DSW, too. Your budget should be more than enough. Also, try ShoeDazzle

I agree with some previous posters on DSW. That’s where I found my shoes (for under $40). 🙂
