Hi my lovely bees, well i only got engaged a few days ago but sadly my ring seems to be a little loose 🙁 It is the right size or so we thought, even other rings the same size fit and the ring sizer seems right too.. i think the design of my ring/any e-ring maybe means there is a little extra space at the top as it rises to the centre diamond.
It is small enough to not just go over my knuckle on its own but it does slide slightly up and down my finger – the main problem though is it slips around slightly and im scared when it is facing my palm side im going to damage it oneday when i dont notice. I love the ring so much, and im EXTREMELY sentimental and want it to be THE ring he proposed with so i dont really want it just swapped for a smaller size 🙁 fiance and I are so gutted. I can deal with how it is at the moment and im just getting used to even having a ring there so it feels odd – it is winter so could this be why? do your ‘well fitting’ e rings spin in the winter?
Im scared to get it resized as im told it could make it weaker and cause problems which wouldnt be nice in the long run and I would feel so bad if it had to keep getting fixed. Please help ladies! 🙁 I have large knuckles and skinny fingers so its really frustrating to find a good size i can fit over my knuckle but that doesnt then spin around.
Should i leave it as it is and it should be fine in summer.. im 19 so don’t know if fingers grow alot as you age?? and also i feel it might be fine once a wedding band is alongside it which would be about.. 6 or 7 months away.

I would recommend talking to your jeweler- they will let you know if making it smaller will stop the spinning. I just got my e-ring resized and it was the best decision that I made. And it definitely did not compromise the ring in any way.

do you have a picture?
resizing shouldn’t weaken the ring if done properly, and it will still be the same ring that he proposed with.
Look into getting sizing beads put on too? They are perfect for people with larger knuckles and skinnier fingers.

thankyou, does it cost alot to get it resized? he bought the ring last year. Also how long until you got it back from being resized? thanks!

I would resize it. If you get it resized, it’s still the same ring he proposed with, only smaller.
I’ve had mine resized once already (like you, he ordered it in the size my finger measures, but it was too big), and since losing 18 pounds, I now need it resizing again, because it keeps spinning and it’s driving me insane!
So yeah, I’d resize.

do sizing beads cost alot? and i guess they are just put on to the existing ring so the structure isn’t affected? they look like a good option 🙂 thanks for sharing!

I think they are around $80. I like this option because in the summer if your fingers swell it’s not like your whole ring is really smaller. You get used to the feel of the beads too, although they feel odd at the beginning. Any jeweller could put them on for you.

It only took a day for me to get my ring re-sized. I am not sure how much it cost because it was covered under a care package my fiance bought with the ring, but it is relatively inexpensive. The price changes based on the band of your ring- decorative bands are more to resize. Any cost is definitely worth it however if it means your ring fits properly and you no longer have to worry about it!
